Carmarthenshire County Council has just published plans to build a new 140-bedroom hotel on a coastline site adjacent to a Llanelli golf course.
The new hotel would boast views across Machynys Golf Club and Pendine Country Park. as well over the beaches of the Gower Peninsular in South Wales.
Part of the proposed site was formerly occupied by Machynys brickworks in the early part of the last century.
The proposed hotel would incorporate over 100,000 sq ft of floor space and would include a restaurant, bar and lounge as well as meeting, conference and function rooms to attract both the business market as well as boosting local tourism.
Carmarthenshire County Council is carrying out a 28-day statutory consultation on the proposal.
