Plans for a hotel adjacent to Alnwick Castle in Northumberland have just received planning approval,
The new hotel will be created in former school buildings on Bailiffgate.
Numbers 2-8 Bailiffgate will be converted to create 14 hotel suites and apartments. Some buildings to the rear will be demolished and replaced with a new four-storey block with a further 33 bedrooms connected to the existing buildings by a glazed walkway.
The former school gym will be converted into a new fitness studio.
The Bailiffgate buildings have been empty since the school left for their new premises back in 2016.
The new hotel will be located a short walk from both Alnwick Castle and Alnwick town centre.
We will advise proposed opening dates as soon as they are published.
