Plans have been approved to convert a former bicycle factory on the edge of Rotherham town centre in South Yorkshire into a hotel.
The former Fosters Cycles building on Thames Street was previously used for the manufacture, sale and storage of bicycles. It is currently vacant.
The factory is a three-storey building, a rare piece of industrial architecture and reputed at the time it was built, in 1855, to be the largest factory of its kind in the world.
Plans would see the factory converted to create a 23-bedroom hotel.
We will monitor progress.
