IHG Hotels:  Theobalds Estate, Noted Collection by IHG is the first property to join IHG’s new premium collection brand. Located in Hertfordshire, Theobalds Estate, Noted Collection by IHG is set within 55 acres of historic parkland near Theobalds Grove, around 35 minutes from London Liverpool Street. The De Vere Group converted the estate into a hotel in the 1990s.  The property will now undergo extensive refurbishment.  

This summer will see the debut of IHG’s Vignette Collection.  Canary Riverside Plaza, Vignette Collection by IHG at Canary Wharf in London will have 142 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant, bar and health club. Its main meeting room will seat up to 220 delegates theatre style and is supported by a range of smaller suites and boardrooms.

Voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow has reopened following a major fire in the area which forced its temporary closure.

IHG will be opening the latest addition to their Garner Hotels branding later this year. The former Palace Hotel in Southend will have 137 bedrooms, a restaurant and bar, fitness centre, business centre and meeting and events facilities.

Hilton Hotels:  have recently opened The Derby London City Hotel in London's Square Mile. The hotel, a member of the group’s Curio Collection by Hilton, takes its name from the British bowler hat known as a "Derby". The hotel on Great Tower Street has 234 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, a 24-hour gym, two boardrooms accommodating 10 and 20 delegates plus events space for up to 70 delegates.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre has just opened marking the brand’s debut across Europe, Middle East and Africa. The hotel designed as a ‘home from home’ has 290 studio and one-bedroom suites with full kitchens plus an integrated laundry and fitness centre. It is located close to O’Connell Street and the major tourist attractions in the heart of Dublin City.

 Hilton Hotels have announced the launch of Undergraduate by Hilton – a new upper-midscale brand targeting the college and university markets. The group claims that the market has a long-term potential for 400 to 500 hotels. Expect the first to open in 2027.

 Marriott Hotels: Glasgow Marriott Hotel has been named Best Hotel Renovation at Scotland’s Prestige Hotel Awards 2026. This follows its extensive multi-million-pound refurbishment programme last year which included: six new Junior Suites, 75 Executive Rooms, upgraded leisure spa and gym facilities plus refreshed conference and events spaces with enhanced AV capabilities.

Marriott has added Lefay Hotels to its portfolio of brands. Founded in Italy, there are just two hotels in the Lefay grouping – with several additions at the planning stage.

Radisson Group: The Green Hotel in Kinross, Perthshire has joined the Radisson Individuals grouping. Originally an 18th century coaching house, the hotel has 46 bedrooms, (with plans to expand by an additional 14 rooms by 2027), a restaurant and bar, three meeting rooms accommodating up to 80 delegates plus direct access to two 18-hole golf courses:

The Gonville Hotel in Cambridge has joined Radisson Individuals portfolio. Built by Gonville & Caius College as a Senior Fellows House in 1830, it is now a 92-bedroom boutique hotel in the centre of Cambridge with a AA Two Rosette restaurant and four meeting and events suites with the largest seating up to 40 delegates theatre style.

The Medlock Hotel Radisson Hotels will be opening a new Radisson Blu hotel at the Manchester City Football Club’s stadium - opening in late 2026. The hotel, known as The Medlock, will have 401 bedrooms and suites, restaurants and bars and access to events suites for large and small scale conferences in the Club’s Etihad Stadium.

The George Hotel in Huddersfield was the birthplace of rugby league in 1895. The Grade II - listed hotel has been vacant since 2013. It has now been bought by Kirklees Council and plans are now in place to refurbish the building as part of the transformation of the town centre. The revamped hotel will have 108 bedrooms and suites, a new bar, restaurant and gym and will be operated by Radisson Red Grouping.

Accor Hotels: have planned a summer launch for their firstHandwritten Collection’ hotel. It is The Queen at Chester Hotel launching later this year following an extensive renovation project. The Queen at Chester will include 218 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, lounge and a fitness centre plus an alfresco terrace. There will be seven meeting and events spaces, including a Grand Ballroom to accommodate up to 400 delegates.=

De Vere Hotels: De Vere Cotswold Water Park near Cirencester has just refurbished and upgraded 69 bedrooms and its events spaces.

Dalata Hotels: Dalata will be opening The Maldron Kensington – the group’s seventh hotel in London with 370 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, gym and extensive meeting and events facilities. It is scheduled to open in 2029.

Best Western Hotels: has introduced WorldHotels Backdrop, a collection of accommodations designed for outdoor stays in locations around the world. The range includes canvas tents, riverside cabins, and similar lodging in settings such as mountains, coastlines, and near the entrances to national parks.

Nobu Hospitality has published plans to open a new hotel, restaurant, residences and spa facilities within a 185-acre site near Stamford in Rutland. Centrally located the new hotel will be within approximately one to two hours of London, Cambridge, Birmingham and Manchester. Planned opening dates to be advised.

Classic British Hotels has added The Mount Country Manor Hotel in Wolverhampton to its portfolio. It is a Grade-II Listed Victorian manor house with 67 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant, bar and manicured gardens plus seven meeting and events suites - a five-minute drive from the centre of Wolverhampton and ten minutes from the M6.

Thistle Hotels The Tower Suite at The Tower Hotel by Thistle has officially reopened following a major refurbishment. Located beside Tower Bridge in central London, the hotel will accommodate up to 500 guests for gala dinners, large-scale conferences, product launches and celebrations. The Tower Hotel by Thistle has 801 bedrooms and suites plus 16 flexible meeting spaces.

Village Hotels: Village Hotel Sheffield formally opens in June in what was once the Doubletree by Hilton Sheffield Park on Chesterfield Road in Sheffield. Newly refurbished, the hotel has 133 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, health and wellness club and a range of meeting and events suites.

Bob W - the tech and AI-driven hospitality operator - has signed a lease agreement with Bloom Street Hotel in Manchester. It will see the hotel’s ground level car park transformed into Bob W Manchester City Centre - an 83-unit aparthotel in Manchester city centre with shared amenities including a lobby lounge, washateria and luggage storage. Construction has already commenced and is scheduled to open in summer 2027.

Zedwell Hotels: has gained approval to convert the Trafalgar Buildings at the junction of Whitehall and Northumberland Avenue in central London into a 387-bedroom hotel. The hotel plans will see three interconnected properties, two of them Grade-II listed, converted into the group’s largest hotel. It will feature their  “cocoon” rooms, with a purified air systems in place of windows, enhanced acoustic insulation and a pared-back, tech-led guest experience featuring a self-check-in and keyless entry. The existing ground-floor retail units will be retained. The new hotel will join the group’s other five locations across central London in Piccadilly Circus, Knightsbridge, Tottenham Court Road, Park Lane and Greenwich. No anticipated opening dates have been published.

Finally, an independent hotel - The Grand Hotel, here in Birmingham, has just marked its five-year anniversary since it reopened following a major £50million refurbishment. It had been closed for almost twenty years prior to its refurb. The Grade II listed hotel now has 185 bedrooms and suites, a Grand Ballroom, a wide range of meeting and events suites plus Madeleine cocktail bar and Isaac’s restaurant.
