Plans have been approved to convert Nottingham's historic Guildhall into a four-star hotel.
Plans for the building include a 160-bedroom hotel featuring a rooftop fine dining restaurant, a spa plus conference and events facilities.
The Grade II-listed Guildhall building dates back to 1887 and in the past has housed a magistrates’ court, police station and fire station but the building has been vacant since 2010.
A new five-storey rear extension to the Guildhall is planned plus a glazed link connection between the Guildhall and Fire Station House alongside.
The Guildhall section will feature 39 bedrooms whilst the five-storey extension will create a further 20 bedrooms. The 13-storey tower will feature 101 bedrooms as well as the rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace.
The Guildhall is located in Sherwood Street in the centre of Nottingham.
We will monitor progress and report back in due course.
