Owners of the Crossbasket Castle Hotel, a former derelict castle in South Lanarkshire which has been transformed into a nine-bedroom, five-star hotel, have now announced plans for a £15million expansion.
The plans include a new 40-bedroom hotel, restaurant and state-of-the-art spa set within the castle’s extensive grounds.
The new spa would house a glass-fronted café, swimming pool, gym and fitness studio, heat experiences, relaxation areas and a variety of treatment rooms. The expansion plan also envisages a new restaurant along with a bar, snug areas and a stage for live entertainment.
If approved construction work could start in early 2021 with an estimated two-year-long build programme.
Crossbasket Castle Hotel is just over 10 miles from central Glasgow and 16 miles from Glasgow Airport.
