Further north, in Preston Lancashire, plans have been approved to convert the Grade II-Listed former Unicorn Hotel pub on North Road in Preston into a front for a new 126-unit aparthotel development.
The Unicorn Hotel is to be converted with five first floor apartments created plus a communal area on the ground floor.
The remaining 121 units will be in a new three-to-five storey block at the rear of the Unicorn Hotel.
The target markets for the Unicorn aparthotel include guest university lecturers working at the University of Central Lancashire, a near neighbour, as well as business guests working in the area.
No planned opening dates have been published yet.
