Plans are moving forward to redevelop 15 Old Bailey in London into a new 110 bedroom luxury hotel. 15 Old Bailey is located close to St Paul’s Cathedral and on the same street as The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales.
15 Old Bailey was originally built as the Holborn Viaduct hotel in 1874. It’s chief claim to fame is that it was the first hotel in London to have electric lighting. The hotel was subsequently converted to offices in the 1900s.
The new hotel trading under the name ‘The Old Bailey’ will feature 110 bedrooms and suites. The building will be sympathetically restored preserving its legacy and its 19th Century features.
The hotel will include a full-service restaurant and bar plus a fitness centre.
Development work expected to take around 18 months.
