Irish hotel group Dalata has published plans to open seven new hotels across the UK and Ireland by May next year.

Dalata open its first property in Glasgow in August. It is a 300-bedroom Maldron Hotel. This will followed by a further hotels in Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin between November this year and May 2022.

A previously announced Maldron property in Birmingham will now not be proceeding. A 330-bedroom hotel was promised. It was to be located within a five-minute walk of Birmingham New Street Station and completed in time for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

There is also a question mark over Dalata’s plans to open its first London property under the Maldron Hotel brand. At the time Maldron Hotel Shoreditch London was expected to open in 2022.

The group’s portfolio currently consists of 29 owned hotels, 12 leased properties and three management contracts, with a total of 9,261 bedrooms, and around 3,000 rooms set to be added over the next three years across 12 new hotels.
