Buxton Crescent Hotel and Thermal Spa is a new hotel opening in Buxton, Derbyshire in Spring 2020
A multi-million pound redevelopment of Buxton Crescent has been underway for the last several years.
The Grade 1-listed building will now reopen this Spring as the five star Buxton Crescent Hotel with 81 bedrooms. It will be operated by Ensana Health Spa Hotels, a group with 26 spa hotels across Europe but making its debut in the UK.
Buxton Crescent Hotel will include a restaurant, two bars and a spa café. The 18th century ballroom – known as the Assembly Room – has been fully refurbished, fully equipped and now supported by several smaller meeting and events rooms all incorporating period features.
The Crescent was the centrepiece of the Fifth Duke of Devonshire’s plans to establish a fashionable Georgian spa town in Buxton. The building is one of the most architecturally significant buildings in the country. The redevelopment and restoration following a £50 million investment is designed to put ‘Buxton back on the national and international map’ as England’s leading spa town.
