The Singapore-based Fragrance Group has bought up four sites along the English Riviera on which they plan to invest up to £150million to create four state-of-the-art hotels.
The sites include the Corbyn Head Hotel and the Palace Hotel in Torquay as well as the Park Hotel and The Lighthouse in Paignton.
The twin hotels at Paignton will be operated by Accor Hotels. The Park Hotel will become a 161 bedroom Mercure Hotel and is expected to open August 2021. The hotel currently on the Lighthouse site will become an Ibis Styles Hotel with 119 bedrooms. It is expected to open September 2021.
Palace Hotel in Torquay is set to become a five-star hotel with 248 bedrooms, conference facilities and a spa. No operator has been announced yet. Development work is expected to be complete by 2023.
Corbyn Head Hotel, also in Torquay, will have 150 plus bedrooms and will be operated by an, as yet to be announced, global brand. Corbyn Head will take between 18-22 months to build once development work gets underway.
In total, the four hotels will provide more than 600 bedrooms.
Other UK hotels recently acquired by the Fragrance Group include The Imperial Hotel in Blackpool, the Townhouse Hotel in Manchester and the Crown Hotel in Harrogate.
