Plans for a major new mixed-use development to include a new hotel look set to be approved in Rotherham this week.
The new triple-phased development is planned on Forge Island on the edge of Rotherham town centre on a peninsula formed by the River Don and the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation Canal.
Phase one of the scheme would comprise a 69-bedroom hotel and café, four restaurants and an eight-screen cinema with associated car parking. Phases two and three would mainly comprise private apartments.
If planning approval is granted construction is expected begin in autumn 2021.
