The Kia Oval in London, home of Surrey County Cricket Club since 1845 as well as being a major conference and events venue in central London, is planning an expansion.
The project - dubbed One Oval Square - is a new three-tier stand comprising of two main rooms on the first and second floors each with their own terraces and crowned with a roof terrace.
The largest space in the new stand will accommodate up to 850 delegates theatre style with floor to ceiling glass along the pitch facing walls. The room will include a viewing platform and offer direct access into the Pavilion for breakout spaces.
Events space on the second floor of the new stand will include a room for up to 600 delegates theatre style. The room will have a 6m high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows. It will also have direct access into the Pavilion for breakout spaces.
The Kia Oval currently operate 16 meeting and events suites of various sizes with the largest accommodating up to 650 delegates theatre style, plus a range of outdoor and rooftop terraces.
Completion of construction work on One Oval Square is anticipated in 2021.
