A new National Rugby League Museum is set to be created in Huddersfield.
The museum will be based at the George Hotel in Huddersfield, the hotel where the sport was born 125 years ago.
The Grade II-listed George Hotel is set to form part of a revitalised St George's Square, including a refurbishment of Huddersfield station together with improved public spaces. The George Hotel has been closed since January 2013.
Work to renovate the interior and exterior of the George Hotel is scheduled to begin shortly, with plans for the galleries, exhibitions and interactive displays that will feature in the museum being drawn up soon.
