Woolwich Works is a new restoration project currently underway at former industrial buildings in Woolwich, East London. It will open as a new ‘cultural quarter’ in Spring 2021.

A £31.6million restoration programme will see five historic buildings on the Royal Arsenal site converted into multi-use spaces for concerts, exhibitions, conferences and events.

Woolwich Works will include a performance venue for up to 1200 delegates, a performance courtyard seating up to 600 and 10 studios plus a café, bar and community spaces for conferences and other events.

Woolwich Works is located on the banks of the River Thames in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

A new hotel plus apartments is being planned on the site of a former further and higher education college in Corby, Northamptonshire.

The hotel would have 70 bedrooms and would be located on the Tresham College site in George Street in the centre of Corby.

Plans are currently under consideration by Corby Borough Council.

The Swan Hotel and Spa in Newby Bridge is to invest £7million with the aim of transforming the 17th-century coaching inn in the Lake District into a world-class luxury spa resort. Completion is anticipated by summer 2021.

An additional 30 new bedrooms will be housed in a new three-storey extension.

The Swan Hotel and Spa currently has 54 bedrooms and includes a restaurant and bar plus a fitness centre with a 10m pool and gym. Four meeting and events rooms will accommodate up to 100 delegates.

The Swan Hotel and Spa at Newby Bridge is a five-minute drive from the southern end of Lake Windermere and is 15 minutes from the M6 motorway.

The new Mercure Bournemouth Queens Hotel & Spa has just reopened following a total £3.5million refurbishment of the Queens Hotel. The hotel will be officially rebranded from 31st July.

All 109 bedrooms at the Mercure Bournemouth Queens Hotel & Spa have been totally refurbished. The bedroom designs now take their inspiration from the ‘roaring twenties’ and they include a 50-inch smart TV and complimentary high-speed wi-fi.

Mercure Bournemouth Queens Hotel & Spa is located overlooking the Jurassic Coast within easy walking distance of local Bournemouth attractions including the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC).

YOTEL has announced that it is to open its first central London hotel in Clerkenwell on 1st August. YOTEL also claims that YOTEL London will be the first new hotel to open in the city since lockdown.

Plans by Newcastle-based property company, Malhotra, to create a new aparthotel in Newcastle on Tyne have been approved. The redevelopment of a building at 1 Mosley Street would see a four to five storey extension added to the existing Grade II-listed building.

The new development would comprise 20 aparthotel rooms with a reception area, office space, a restaurant/bar on the ground floor plus a rooftop garden.

1 Mosley Street dates back to the end of the nineteenth century and lies within the Newcastle Conservation Area.
