Citadines Islington London opens
Aparthotel operators, Ascott Limited, has just opened Citadines Islington London, the latest addition to its Citadines Apart’hotel portfolio in Europe.
Citadines Islington London is housed in an Edwardian building that was once a Royal Mail Sorting Office.
Citadines Islington London has 81 studios and 27 one-bedroom apartments, which can accommodate up to two and four guests respectively. Each apartment is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. A dishwasher, a microwave and fridge are also featured, as well as a kettle. Leisure facilities include a gym.
Citadines Islington London also offers Ascott’s ‘Work in Residence’ initiative, where guests can rent an apartment as a private workspace.
Citadines Islington London is located in Shelley Place just over a mile from Kings Cross and within walking distance of many of London’s visitor attractions.

New Aparthotel opening in London
3 Sloane Gardens is a new boutique aparthotel opening in London’s Chelsea on 1 October.
3 Sloane Gardens will feature nine luxury apartments housed in a totally renovated building.
Each apartment will include a kitchen plus the full range of services traditionally offered by a luxury hotel.
3 Sloane Gardens overlooks Sloane Gardens to the front with the rear apartments overlooking private gardens.
3 Sloane Gardens will be operated by UnderTheDoormat.

New boutique Hotel opening in London 2021
Chateau Denmark is a new boutique hotel planned to open in London’s Denmark Street next year.
Denmark Street is synonymous with both subversive and popular culture – The Rolling Stones recorded their first album there, the Sex Pistols lived on the street plus Jimi Hendrix was a regular to the area. Chateau Denmark will take its designs and inspiration from this rich musical heritage.
Chateau Denmark will have 55 bedrooms and apartments across 16 buildings, some dating from the 17th century. Room themes will range from vintage gothic to punk and psychedelia. Many of the rooms will include a ‘maxi-bar’.
Chateau Denmark is a new independent brand and is expected to open in summer 2021.

New Novotel planned in Liverpool
A new design Novotel hotel has been selected by Liverpool City Council to open in the city’s Paddington Village development - the ‘Knowledge Quarter’ of Liverpool.
Novotel Paddington Village will be operated by Legacy Hotels & Resorts. It will be a 16 storey hotel with 221 bedrooms. Its opening will launch a new concept Novotel – the first of its kind in the UK. .
Novotel Paddington Village is due to open late spring 2022.
Paddington Village is a £1 billion development within Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter – a district planned as an international life-science, healthcare and technology destination.

New Hotel approved in York
Plans for a new hotel on Micklegate in the historic heart of York have been approved.
The 62 bedroom boutique hotel is planned in buildings formerly housing a restaurant and a car hire company.
The new hotel will include a restaurant and bar on the ground floor.
Details of the hotel operator together with an anticipated opening date await publication.

Kimpton comes to Manchester in October
The building started life in 1890 as the headquarters of the Refuge Assurance Company in central Manchester. In recent years the prestigious Grade II-listed Victorian building with its famous clock tower became the Palace Hotel and then the Principal Hotel.
From the 1st October it is all change again. The building will be rebranded the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.
Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is part of IHG’s Kimpton branding, an American import which launched in 1981 as a boutique hotel brand and which now has over 60 hotels worldwide in its portfolio. Kimpton Clocktower Hotel will be the fourth Kimpton hotel to open in the UK.
Kimpton Clocktower Hotel still has the building’s original Victorian features, including its clock tower and carved wooden staircases.
Kimpton Clocktower Hotel has 270 loft style bedrooms, many with original features as well as incorporating the latest in-room technology. Kimpton Clocktower Hotel has a restaurant and bar plus 17 meeting and events spaces including the largest hotel ballroom in the northwest of England.
Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is located opposite Manchester Oxford Road station in the centre of the city.
