The new Coventry Telegraph Hotel is planning to open autumn 2020 in the historic ex-premises of the Coventry Evening Telegraph newspaper. It opens just prior to Coventry’s reign as the UK City of Culture throughout 2021.

Coventry Telegraph Hotel will have 88 bedrooms including penthouse suites, a stylish all-day restaurant, a large, flexible events space and a rooftop bar overlooking Belgrade Square in the centre of Coventry.

All the bedrooms will be air-conditioned and will range in size from Snug through to Big, Bigger and Best bedrooms and suites.

‘Forme & Chase’ will be for all-day dining with a bar in a glazed courtyard.

‘Generators’ will be the seasonal rooftop bar overlooking Belgrade Square.

‘Editors’ will be the main events suite seating from 12 to160 delegate with a range of spaces, a lounge area and a bar.

Coventry Telegraph Hotel is Coventry’s first boutique hotel and is located in the centre of the city. It reflects both the architecture of Coventry as well as the building's former life as a thriving newspaper and print works.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is set to open on 9th November 2020.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square will have 249 bedrooms. It will feature a Nobu Restaurant, bar and outdoor terrace as well as a ballroom accommodating up to 600 guests, a gym, wellness facilities plus meeting and events spaces.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square previously operated as the Radisson Blu Portman Square and before that was the Portman InterContinental.

Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is located in Portman Square, Marylebone near Marble Arch. It is the second Nobu Hotel to open in London joining Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch.

Fattal Hotel Group have now opened their first NYX Hotel in the UK in London. NYX Hotel London Holborn was formerly the 201-bedroom Grange Holborn Hotel.

Fattal is an expanding Israeli-based hotel group which currently operates Jurys Inns Hotels and Leonardo Hotels in the UK. NYX is the group’s ‘lifestyle’ branding.

All bedrooms at NYX Hotel London Holborn are fitted with modern amenities, including free wi-fi, air conditioning, flat screen TV, en-suite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a restaurant and bar. Leisure facilities include a pool, gym, sauna, steam room and spa.

NYX Hotel London Holborn has 14 flexible meeting and events rooms that can accommodate up to 450 delegates, all with natural daylight and fully equipped with the latest technology.

NYX Hotel London Holborn is located on the corner of Southampton Row and Theobald’s Road, a five minute walk from London Euston and London Kings Cross/St Pancras stations.

The Grade I-listed Buxton Crescent Hotel has undergone a complete £70million transformation over several years and will now reopen to the public on 1st October.

Buxton Crescent Hotel will feature 81 bedrooms and a spa which will harness the therapeutic qualities of Buxton’s mineral rich water. Buxton Crescent Hotel will be the first UK property from Ensana.

The leisure facilities at Buxton Crescent Hotel include three pools: a refurbished Victorian thermal pool with heated and untreated mineral waters, a relaxation pool and an indoor-outdoor rooftop pool. The hotel will also feature eight treatment rooms.

Buxton Crescent Hotel will have seven meeting and events rooms including a boardroom. The main Assembly Rooms originally built for public gatherings in the 18th century, is now restored to its former glory and will seat up to 120 guests for a banquet or 180 delegates conference theatre style.

Buxton Crescent Hotel is located in the centre of the spa town of Buxton in the Peak District Natural Park in Derbyshire. The M1/M6/M62 motorways are all within a one hour’s drive. Buxton station is a five-minute walk away.

Insider Magazine has reported on an initiative by Katrina Cinus, Conference & Events Manager at University of South Wales, on new ways to run business events, meetings and conferences – post Covid.

In Wales, an Event Industry Advisory Group was set up in April to report to the Welsh Government regarding the development of new guidelines.

Their suggestions for hosting safe meetings can be briefly summarized as follows:

Event organisers and/or venues are responsible for Track & Trace through online registration systems for event delegates and staff

Event organisers and/or venues must prepare a Covid-19 risk assessment for each event

The venue is responsible for Covid-19 social distancing measures for each event

Visit Britain has developed the ‘We’re Good to Go’ accreditation. All venues must sign up to confirm they are ready post-Covid. (https://goodtogo.visitbritain.com/your-business-good-to-go-wales)

All event delegates must adhere to social distancing of two metres – in line with venue capacity. Event furniture must also be two metres apart

Event organisers should increase the use of digital technology to minimise queues at registration (staggered arrival times), self-printing of delegate badges, encourage online event delegates

Venues must be thoroughly cleaned before, during, and after each event

Event organisers must monitor delegate flow and organise appropriate solutions for visitor traffic including: one-way systems, separation screens, one-in-one-out systems in small spaces, and the event’s social distancing at all times

Food and beverages should be pre-packed or in closed containers

Hand sanitisation stations must be available at the venue

Face masks/face coverings must be worn within the venue

No handshakes, cwtches, or business card exchanges should be permitted

The Haslem Hotel is a new development which has just opened in the centre of Lisburn in Northern Ireland.

Haslem Hotel features 45 bedrooms, an 80-seater open plan lobby and bar area, a 68-seater restaurant, a residents’ gym, and a conference/meeting room. Haslem Hotel has three bedroom sizes all with super-fast broadband, a 55-inch television and specially commissioned artwork by a local artist.

Haslem Hotel is a member of Beannchor Group's portfolio which also includes the Merchant and the Bullitt Hotels, both in Belfast.

Haslem Hotel is located in Lisburn Square. It is built on the site of a former Argos store in the heart of central Lisburn.
