Following recent Council approval, several old warehouses near Deansgate Locks in the centre of Manchester are set to be demolished to make way for a new mixed-use scheme which will include a new Travelodge.

The planned new Travelodge will have eight storeys with retail, food and drink outlets on the ground floor.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has just published details of its planned new global hotel openings expected next year.

voco Hotels is one of the newest boutique brands to IHG. The voco name comes from Latin origins meaning ‘to invite’ and ‘call together’.

Following the opening of the first voco in the U.S, voco will now debuts in the UK in Scotland in early 2021. Two new openings are planned in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

voco Grand Central, Glasgow will adjoin the city’s Central Station along with voco Edinburgh – Haymarket opening with 150 bedrooms in the heart of Edinburgh and just 100 yards from EICC.

Staybridge Suites is one of IHG’s extended stay brands. A new Staybridge Suites Cardiff will sit alongside the existing Holiday Inn Express with views overlooking the waterfront at Cardiff Bay. Staybridge Suites Cardiff will have total of 73 suites and is scheduled to open mid-2021.

We recently reported that the Gostin's Building, a Liverpool landmark, is set to be converted into a hotel. The Fattal Group have been given the green light to convert the building into a 207-bedroom NYX by Leonardo Hotel – the group’s "lifestyle concept" hotel brand.

The Fattal Group has now received planning permission to open a 283-bedroom Leonardo Hotel as part of Liverpool's Pall Mall development, with a ground floor bar and lounge, first floor restaurant, meeting rooms and a gym.

Both hotels are expected to open in the next two years.

Plans for a new hotel in Windsor town centre have been published. The scheme intends to redevelop a branch of Boots Chemists in Peascod Street into a 124-bedroom hotel complete with a restaurant and bar.

Developers plan to start construction on the site in Summer 2021, subject to planning approval.

Plans to build a new 43-bedroom hotel together with 20 yurts at the Dallas Burston Polo Grounds in Warwickshire have been approved.

The new hotel is part of an overall expansion plan which also includes another 130-bedroom hotel still awaiting approval.

Dallas Burston Polo Grounds host an array of polo and equestrian sporting events throughout the year. It is also home to the IXL Events Centre, a 3000 person capacity conference and events venue.

Dallas Burston Polo Grounds also have a range indoor and outdoor conference spaces ranging from rooms to accommodate from six to 800 delegates theatre style.

Dallas Burston Polo Grounds are located near the market town of Southam in Warwickshire with good access to the M40 motorway.

Gostin's Building was built for Ayrton Saunders and Co, a drugstore wholesaler who occupied it until the 1990s when it became a furniture store and warehouse.

The Gostin's Building is located within Liverpool's World Heritage Site and the Duke Street Conservation Area. It is also part of the Liverpool One development.

NYX by Leonardo Hotel will become the fourth hotel in the group joining the former 201-bedroom Grange Holborn which relaunched in May plus a planned new build 261-bedroom NYX in Birmingham and a conversion of a listed building adjacent to the Edinburgh Jurys Inn.
