Three London venues form ‘Medical City’
Three major venues in London plan to join forces to promote their area as a prime location for events linked to healthcare.
BMA House, Royal College of Physicians and Wellcome Collection are all based around Euston’s so called ‘Medical Mile’. All three venues have now pledged to use all their profits to help larger medical organisations achieve their mission.
The three venues will be collaborating and supporting each other’s events and providing multi-site spaces for meetings if required. Together they offer a wide range of meeting and events facilities, delegate packages, rates and technical backup - all helping to ensure a successful event.
All three venues have received the mia AIM Secure Accreditation and Visit Britain Good to Go Accreditation, making them all Covid-safe venues.
Wellcome Collection is located on Euston Road, BMA House is just around the corner in Tavistock Square and The Royal College of Physicians overlooks Regent’s Park.

New Coventry Hotel about to open
The Telegraph Hotel finally opens its doors in Coventry this January – an opening originally scheduled for last year but now a 2021 gain.
The Telegraph Hotel results from a two-year-long £15million transformation project of the former Coventry Telegraph newspaper headquarters.
The Telegraph Hotel will feature 88 air-conditioned bedrooms – a range of Snug, Big, Bigger and Best bedrooms and suites, Forme & Chase all-day dining and bar in a glazed courtyard plus Generators, a seasonal rooftop bar overlooking Belgrade Square.
Editors is the events suite at the Telegraph Hotel with capacity from 12 to160 delegates with a range of spaces plus a lounge area and bar.
The Telegraph Hotel is Coventry's first boutique venue and located, as it is, in the former premises of the Coventry Evening Telegraph newspaper ensures it will invoke the mid-century architecture of the city, as well as reflecting the building's former life as a thriving newspaper and print works. You will find it in Corporation Street overlooking Belgrade Square in the centre of Coventry.

New Birmingham Hotel about to open
Aloft Birmingham Eastside is a new modern, loft inspired hotel opening in the heart of Birmingham's Eastside district this January.
Aloft Birmingham Eastside will have 195 bedrooms and will feature an on-site pub, which has been preserved from one of the city’s oldest public houses and restored as part of Aloft Birmingham Eastside’s development.
Aloft Birmingham Eastside will have one fully equipped meeting room to accommodate up to 40 delegates.
Aloft Birmingham Eastside is centrally located - a 10-minute journey from Birmingham’s three main rail hubs and a short drive off the M6 at Spaghetti Junction (J6). Even Villa Park home of Aston Villa Football Club is within walking distance.

Spring opening planned for Selina Camden
Selina Hotels is planning to open its fifth UK hotel in London’s Camden as soon as lockdown is over.
Selina Camden will have 30 bedrooms ranging from standard double rooms to suites, a loft-style room and four-people family rooms.
Selina Camden will feature vegan restaurant, Powerplant, which will offer plant-based dishes alongside a cocktail menu. Selina Camden will also feature a fully equipped communal kitchen, a movie room and rooftop terrace.
Selina Camden will be located opposite The Roundhouse arts and music venue with Camden Market and London Zoo also on the doorstep.
Selina Camden is a minute’s walk from Chalk Farm tube station.
Selina Camden will join Selina Birmingham which opened recently plus Selina Manchester, Selina Liverpool and Selina Brighton. The group now operates in 20 countries worldwide.

New Hampton by Hilton go-ahead in London
Finance is now in place for a new Hilton-branded hotel in London. The Dominvs Group have secured funding for a new Hampton by Hilton hotel in London’s Aldgate.
The site was formerly the home of Arbor City Hotel. The hotel will be completely refurbished and will gain a new-build extension. The resulting five-storey hotel - Hampton by Hilton London City - will have 278 rooms and suites plus meeting, dining and events spaces including a cinema room and a large function room.
Building work is not expected to complete before summer 2023.

New hotel approved in central Glasgow
Plans to redevelop Met Tower in the centre of Glasgow into an 11-storey hotel and office development have just been approved by Glasgow city council.
Plans include the creation of 120,000 sq ft of office space plus the building of a new 260-bedroom hotel over 11 floors. The hotel would connect to the Met Tower via a landscaped plaza, also accessible to the public.
Met Tower is located in North Hanover Street beside Glasgow Queen Street station. Further details to follow in due course
