Plans have been submitted to convert a Grade II-listed former bank in Rotherham, South Yorkshire into a hotel.

The building is located on Rotherham’s High Street. It was constructed in the 1890’s for the Sheffield and Rotherham Joint Stock Banking Company. More recently it housed the RBS Bank – but the building is now vacant.

Plans outline a 24- bedroom hotel on the first and second floors, as well as part of the ground floor. The hotel would also feature a ground floor restaurant.

We will monitor progress through the planning procedure.

Fulham Football Club’s Craven Cottage stadium is small by Premier League standards but it boasts an excellent location on the banks of the River Thames in London and is known for its history and listed status as well as for being a compact and friendly stadium.

The newly opened Riverside Terrace at Craven Cottage offers a range of events spaces with spectacular views of the River Thames and the pitch. The stadium offers a variety of spaces with a range of styles from an historical to a traditional and contemporary theming and with a range of capacities from six to 150 delegates..

The Press Room and Players’ Lounge within the historic Craven Cottage is also available for groups of up to 40 delegates. Larger events for up to 300 guests can also be hosted at the stadium.

Outdoor events can be arranged in the adjacent Bishops Park with the opportunity to host large team building and sports day activities, including corporate summer parties or family fun days.

Craven Cottage is located in Stevenage Road in south west London, less than a mile on a new pathway along the banks of the River Thames to both Hammersmith and Putney Bridges tube stations.

The new Riverside Stand also features in The Times’s top ten ‘coolest new buildings’.

Plans have been submitted to convert the Royal Angus Hotel on St Chad’s Queensway in the centre of Birmingham into a 174-bedroom aparthotel. Plans also include a communal ground floor facility and a winter garden.

Conversion plans have been submitted to Birmingham City Council for approval. Watch this space for news on the outcome.

It is looking a long way into the future but planners at Liverpool City Council have recommended approval for Everton Football Club’s proposed new £500million stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock on Merseyside.

The proposed new stadium would open-up access to Liverpool’s waterfront World Heritage Site which is not currently available to the public. As well as providing a 52,888-capacity football stadium, the project would host non-football events including concerts, other sporting events, conferences, exhibitions, events and banqueting throughout the year.

In view of the sheer size of the scheme the proposals will be referred to the Secretary of State for approval before construction can begin on site. If all goes to plan Everton could be playing in a new stadium by the 2024/25 season – and conferences hosted in the same year.

Construction work has reached the highest point on what is set to become the tallest hotel in Liverpool.

Positioned opposite the Royal Liverpool Hospital, the £38m Novotel Liverpool will comprise 221 bedrooms over16 storeys. It is located in Paddington Village opposite the Royal Liverpool Hospital and within the 450-acre Knowledge Quarter Liverpool.

Novotel Liverpool is scheduled to open in the spring of 2022 and will be managed by Legacy Hotels & Resorts.
