New Aparthotel opens in Leicester
The Gresham Aparthotel has just opened in the centre of Leicester. It is based in a Grade II-listed Victorian building dating from the 1880’s which was formerly occupied by the retailer, Fenwick.
The Gresham Aparthotel has 121 apartments ranging from studio apartments to luxury sky rooms. Each apartment is fitted with a kitchenette, shower room, dining area and lounge area with a television and free high-speed wi-fi.
Black Iron Social is the restaurant and bar at The Gresham Aparthotel.
The Gresham Aparthotel has a fully equipped fitness suite and a laundry room for guests.
Gresham Works offers co-working spaces plus meeting and conference facilities. Three flexible meeting rooms are available with dividable walls making them suitable for meetings for up to 60 people.
The Gresham Aparthotel is located on the corner of Market Street and Belvoir Street in the centre of Leicester, a short walk from Leicester Railway station.

YOTEL opens in Manchester
Qbic Manchester hotel which opened in the centre of Manchester in May 2021 has just rebranded as a YOTEL Manchester Deansgate.
YOTEL Manchester Deansgate is a fashionable, tech-friendly hotel with 261 bedrooms. It features ‘Motley’ for all day eating and drinking plus TRIB3 boutique fitness studio.
YOTEL Manchester Deansgate joins three other YOTEL properties in the UK: in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
YOTEL Manchester Deansgate is located in the heart of central Manchester, a mile from Manchester Piccadilly station.

New Hotels planned at two football clubs
Leicester City Football Club are planning to build a new hotel and indoor arena plus another 8000 seats at their King Power Stadium ground.
The hotel would be housed in a new 15-storey building. It would include 220 bedrooms, a business centre plus a 6,000-capacity indoor arena for conferences, concerts and events at the stadium.
The plans to extend the ground have now been submitted to Leicester City Council. Subject to planning approval, the earliest possible completion date for the East Stand work would be summer 2024.
Meanwhile Southend United Football Club has secured planning approval for a new 22,000 capacity stadium with a hotel attached.
The new stadium will be built at Fossetts Farm and will replace the existing Roots Hall stadium.
The Fossetts Farm stadium will include a 107-bedroom hotel as well as a restaurant and conference space.
The decision on Southend United Football Club’s new stadium will now go to the government for final consent. The club hopes to start work on the project in the first quarter of 2022 subject to gaining final approval.

Meet at The Faversham in Leeds
The Faversham in Leeds first opened in 1947 as a hotel before becoming a well-established night club and live music venue in Leeds.
The Faversham has now reinvented itself again, this time as an events venue with four main areas.
These include the Main Room at the centre of The Faversham which will accommodate up to 120 delegates theatre style or 300 standing. It is a room with large windows, timber floors and exposed brickwork. The Main Room is supported by The Lounge, again a room with plenty of natural daylight and accommodating up to 50 delegates theatre style. The Conservatory at The Faversham features its original glass roof and will accommodate up to 80 delegates theatre style.
All the meeting rooms are fully equipped with the latest audio-visual technology. Catering options range from snacks and a finger buffet to a full banquet.
The Faversham is set in its own grounds with extensive lawns and an outdoor terrace available as an alfresco meeting experience for up to 100 delegates.
The Faversham is located in Springfield Mount on the edge of Leeds city centre with plenty of on-site parking and around a twenty-minute walk from Leeds station.

New hotel planned in Berkshire
Hotel operators, The Signet Collection, opened their first hotel, The Mitre Hampton Court in September 2020. Next year the group is planning to open its second hotel in Berkshire.
The Retreat Elcot Park is the group’s new venture and is expected to open Spring 2022 in a Grade II-listed 18th-century building, once the childhood home of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
The Retreat Elcot Park will have 55 bedrooms and two restaurants including an all-day dining brasserie. Leisure facilities will include a health club with pools, treatment rooms, steam and sauna, plus a gym, tennis courts and croquet lawns. The Courtyard will feature retail space include a bakery and a coffee house.
The Retreat Elcot Park will also include meeting and events spaces.
The Retreat Elcot Park is located between Hungerford and Newbury.

Construction to start on new Maldron Hotel
Construction on the new Maldron-branded hotel in Liverpool is expected to start in early 2022 with a view to the hotel being operational in autumn 2023.
The new nine-storey Maldron Hotel Liverpool will include 260 bedrooms and suites with a bar and restaurant on the ground floor, a range of meeting rooms on the firstfloor level plus leisure facilities including a gym.
Maldron Hotel Liverpool will be located at the junction of Liver Street and Park Lane, near to the city centre districts of Liverpool One, the Baltic Triangle and The Albert Dockland.
