Porsche plans to drive the hotel market
You may not be able to afford to drive a Porsche but soon you will be able to sleep in a Porsche – that is a Porsche Hotel.
The Porsche Design Group – a luxury lifestyle brand owned by the car company - has linked up with Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts. They are planning to launch a range of luxury lifestyle brand Steigenberger Porsche Design Hotels. The group plan to open 15 hotels in cities around the world including London.
Details of when and where the hotels will open have not been released. The hotels will however include a minimum of 150 bedrooms, suites and penthouses, a restaurant and bar concept plus a health and beauty facility with a gym.
Steigenberger Hotels current portfolio includes a total of around 150 hotels on three continents, with more than 30 are under construction or in planning. Currently they have no presence in the UK market.

New Hotel coming to the Peak District
Construction work has just begun on a new hotel in the Peak District. The new hotel will be on the site of the Rising Sun Hotel, a former eighteenth-century coaching inn in the village of Hope in Derbyshire.
The hotel will have 60 bedrooms plus a restaurant and bar. It will be operated by Bike & Boot which opened its first hotel in Scarborough last year.
The new hotel will target bikers, walkers and dogs, and is set to open in the summer of 2022.

Royal College of Music new meeting space
The Royal College of Music in London’s South Kensington is to reopen this July following completion of a £40million investment. Several spaces will be available to hire for events and meetings.
Two new performance spaces will be available together with a new conservatory which has been created in a disused courtyard space.
Spaces available for hire include The Britten Theatre, the Performance Studio and the Parry Rooms. These rooms will be available primarily outside term time although some spaces may be available during term time.
The Royal College of Music is located in Prince Consort Road sandwiched between the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum in South Kensington.

Pocotel opens in Glasgow
Pocotel Glasgow City Centre is a new 91-bedroom hotel which has just opened in the centre of Glasgow. It is the first opening of a new hotel branding owned by Bracknell Property LLP which aims to target the small to mid-sized contemporary hotel market.
Pocotel Glasgow City Centre is located in West George Street in the centre of Glasgow, - a three- minute walk from Glasgow Central station.

Westin London City opening November
The new Westin London City is now set to open this November. It will be the first Westin Hotels & Resorts branded hotel in the UK.
The Westin London City hotel opens in Upper Thames Street in the former Queensbridge House site. It overlooks the River Thames, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and Tate Modern.
Westin London City has 222 luxuriously furnished bedrooms, two restaurants and a riverside wine bar.
Leisure facilities at Westin London City include a fitness studio and spa with six therapy rooms.
Westin London City has seven meeting and events suites with the largest room seating up to 246 delegates theatre style and supported by five breakout rooms – all are fully equipped with the latest meeting technology.
Westin London City will complete the northern riverbank walkway between the Tower of London and Millennium Bridge.

New Hotel planned in Warrington
Village Hotel Warrington is set to get a new hotel as a neighbour at Centre Park Square close to the centre of Warrington
Plans for a new seven-storey hotel with 126 bedrooms have just been approved in Centre Park Square. The site is currently used as a 104-space surface car park.
Centre Park Square is earmarked as a new rail and business hub. The new hotel will be close to Warrington Bank Quay station as well as to a new link road to central Warrington.
