Hotel operators, The Signet Collection, opened their first hotel, The Mitre Hampton Court in September 2020. Next year the group is planning to open its second hotel in Berkshire.

The Retreat Elcot Park is the group’s new venture and is expected to open Spring 2022 in a Grade II-listed 18th-century building, once the childhood home of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.

The Retreat Elcot Park will have 55 bedrooms and two restaurants including an all-day dining brasserie. Leisure facilities will include a health club with pools, treatment rooms, steam and sauna, plus a gym, tennis courts and croquet lawns. The Courtyard will feature retail space include a bakery and a coffee house.

The Retreat Elcot Park will also include meeting and events spaces.

The Retreat Elcot Park is located between Hungerford and Newbury.

Construction on the new Maldron-branded hotel in Liverpool is expected to start in early 2022 with a view to the hotel being operational in autumn 2023. 

The new nine-storey Maldron Hotel Liverpool will include 260 bedrooms and suites with a bar and restaurant on the ground floor, a range of meeting rooms on the firstfloor level plus leisure facilities including a gym.

Maldron Hotel Liverpool will be located at the junction of Liver Street and Park Lane, near to the city centre districts of Liverpool One, the Baltic Triangle and The Albert Dockland.

Plough Lane Stadium home to AFC Wimbledon is now open and available for private hire and events.

Plough Lane Stadium features a range of state-of-the-art facilities with suites and executive boxes, all with pitch views, that can host events ranging from 10-700 delegates with full catering support.

The Silver Suite is the largest events space at Plough Lane Stadium. It is split across two floors with the main room on the third floor with a mezzanine overlooking the suite on the 4th floor. The Silver Suite will accommodate up to 500 delegates theatre styles. This is supported by the Platinum and Gold suites both accommodating up to 130 and 60 delegates theatre style each respectively.

Plough Lane Stadium has a Directors Box and eight Hospitality Boxes all with pitch views and seating up to 14 delegates boardroom style. All meeting rooms are equipped with the latest AV technology.

Plough Lane Stadium is served by a range of rail, the Northern and District tube lines and various bus services - with Haydens Road station the nearest and a short walk away. Limited delegate parking is available with prior booking.

Leicester City Football Club are planning to build a new hotel and indoor arena plus another 8000 seats at their King Power Stadium ground.

The hotel would be housed in a new 15-storey building. It would include 220 bedrooms, a business centre plus a 6,000-capacity indoor arena for conferences, concerts and events at the stadium.

The plans to extend the ground have now been submitted to Leicester City Council. Subject to planning approval, the earliest possible completion date for the East Stand work would be summer 2024.

Meanwhile Southend United Football Club has secured planning approval for a new 22,000 capacity stadium with a hotel attached.

The new stadium will be built at Fossetts Farm and will replace the existing Roots Hall stadium.

The Fossetts Farm stadium will include a 107-bedroom hotel as well as a restaurant and conference space.

The decision on Southend United Football Club’s new stadium will now go to the government for final consent. The club hopes to start work on the project in the first quarter of 2022 subject to gaining final approval.

The German-based Amano Group is planning to open its first international hotel in London – with Hotel Amano Covent Garden opening in spring 2022 in Drury Lane.

Amano Covent Garden will have 141 bedrooms in three room categories - cosy, comfy and roomy. It will also feature a basement bar, restaurant, sky bar and a rooftop terrace.

Amano Covent Garden will be housed in an office block built in the 1980s and known as Drury House.

Amano Hotels currently operate eight hotels in Berlin plus one in Munich and one in Dusseldorf. Amano Covent Garden will be in the heart of London a short walk from Covent Garden, Holborn and Tottenham Court Road tube stations.

Canopy by Hilton London City has just opened. It is the first Canopy by Hilton Hotel in the UK.

Canopy by Hilton London City is set in the new Minories development in East London with  340 ‘eco-conscious bedrooms featuring a décor inspired by the Huguenot silk weavers who settled in Spitalfields in the 17th century.

The bedrooms flaunt the hotel’s eco-friendly credentials. Beds made from post-industrial recycled steel. The wood comes from sustainable forests. Bathrom amenities feature recyclable packaging as well as filtered water served in reusable glass bottles.

'Penny Squares' is the restaurant in Canopy by Hilton London City with Freedom Café the café cum cocktail bar.

'Florattica' is a rooftop terrace which opens next Spring. It will enjoy views across St Paul's Cathedral and the City of London.

Canopy by Hilton London City has one 97 sq-mt meeting and events space.
