It was always going to be a potential future development in the hotel market. News now reaches us that the first space hotel is being planned.

The space hotel named the Voyager Class Space Station will be able to hold up to 400 guests. It is slated to open in 2027.

As well as bedroom accommodation the Voyager Class Space Station will also include bars, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Orbital Assembly Corporation is the company planning the new hotel. They are designing a station to accommodate both national space agencies conducting research as well as for the adventurous tourist who wants to experience life in space but in the comfort of a nice hotel.

Two concentric rings will form the structure of the space station with the inner ring acting as the docking hub. The outer ring will provide a base for mounting habitable modules, solar panels, radiators and even a rail transport system.

Construction on the Voyager Class hotel is expected to begin in 2025.

It will be interesting to see if the new hotel publishes a competitive day delegate rate or a 24 hour delegate rate for meetings and events.
