Amano Covent Garden hotel is a new hotel currently under development in central London. The hotel will result from the redevelopment of Drury House, a former office building in Covent Garden.

Amano Covent Garden hotel will have 141 bedrooms and is expected to launch in 2022.

Amano Covent Garden hotel will be operated by Germany-based Amano Group – a hotelier with 15 hotels across Germany.

Amano Covent Garden hotel is the first of multiple hotel projects planned in the UK.

Plans have been approved to develop the new £260million Gateshead Arena. Construction is expected to start in the early New Year with an opening pencilled-in for late 2023.

Gateshead Arena will sit on the NewcastleGateshead waterfront at Gateshead Quays and will includes a world class arena for up to 12,500 people, a purpose built conference and exhibition centre with over 7,000 sqm of flexible event space plus restaurants, a dual branded hotel and large areas of outdoor realm and performance space.

An announcement on who will be the hotel operator is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Harbour Hotels have announced plans to open a second hotel in Salcombe in Devon, due to open in spring 2021.

The new hotel - Harbour Beach Club - will be the redevelopment of the former Tides Reach Hotel. It will be a sister hotel to the group’s Salcombe Hotel & Spa.

Harbour Beach Club will include 50 bedrooms, a casual restaurant and a beach bar plus a luxury spa featuring an indoor pool, sauna and steam room with five treatment rooms. Harbour Beach Club will major on watersport activities as befitting its waterfront location.

Harbour Hotels group now operate 15 properties across the south of England.

The government is currently making plans to administer the hopefully successful anti-Covid vaccine.

The NHS is the aiming to inoculate up to 5,000 people each day. To do that it needs suitable facilities and it is reportedly planning to use conference and exhibition centres as well as other public buildings such as Town Halls, sports stadium and other large scale buildings to administer the vaccine.

Travelodge have just opened their latest hotel in London – Travelodge Plus London Mile End. It joins a group of over 80 Travelodges across London.

Travelodge London Mile End is located in Mile End Road in east London within one mile of Bethnal Green and Stepney Green tube stations and five miles from London City Airport.

Plans have been published for a new hotel in Glasgow. A 200-bedroom hotel will be one component on a 2,500 sq-mt site which will include a major housing development together with leisure venues.

The site at Yorkhill Quay is located on the northern banks of the River Clyde in the West End of Glasgow, between the Riverside Museum and the Scottish Event Campus. The site is currently derelict.

The planned development features a new pedestrian bridge connecting to the Scottish Event Campus (SEC).

The SEC is a major conference and events venue with three main auditoria, 34 breakout rooms and 22,500 sq-mt of exhibition space across five halls.

A public consultation will run until November 30 with a planning application expected to be submitted in early 2021.
