Plans for a new hotel in York have just been approved.

The new hotel would be located on the currently derelict Mill House car park site, off North Street in York city centre.

Plans envisage a six-storey hotel with 82 bedrooms and would be one of the first hotels in the country to generate Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions. The design also includes sustainable features such as solar PV, air source heat pumps and a biodiverse green wall.

Interestingly, the hotel would not feature an in-house bar or restaurant as the developers wish to encourage guests to visit surrounding hospitality businesses and visitor attractions.

We await further developments.
