Leonardo Hotels has just launched its first hotel in Manchester: Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly.

The hotel building is known as the ‘Jenga’ building due to its striking exterior tower blocks and distinctive design. Internally Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly has 275 bedrooms furnished with a Leonardo Hotels’ signature DREAM bed, a television and desk plus all the usual hotel room features.

Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly has an on-site bar, an all-day restaurant and a wellness suite.

Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly has one meeting room with complimentary wi-fi, air-conditioning and fully comprehensive AV equipment. 

Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly is located in Great Ancoats Street in the new Piccadilly East neighbourhood, near Ancoats and the Northern Quarter. It is close to the city centre and half a mile from Manchester Piccadilly Station.

Zeal Hotels has submitted plans to develop a 142-bedroom net zero carbon hotel in East Devon.

Zeal Hotels was established in 2012 and the new 142-bedroom hotel would mark the beginning of Zeal Hotels' plans to build more sustainable hotels across the UK.

The first net zero carbon hotel planned would be located at Exeter Science Park.

Planning approval is anticipated by July 2022 which will allow construction to start shortly afterwards.

A ‘Topping Out’ ceremony was held for a new Ruby Zoe hotel development in London’s Notting Hill Gate earlier this month.

The construction of the 173-bedroom Ruby Zoe started in mid-2021 and completion is envisaged in early 2023. Ruby Zoe will feature the group’s ‘lean-luxury’ philosophy.

Ruby Zoe will be the group’s third hotel in London. It will join Ruby Lucy on London’s Southbank plus Ruby Stella which is also scheduled to open in 2023 in Clerkenwell.

The German-based group is planning a fourth Ruby hotel in London located just a few minutes’ walk from Tate Modern, the Southbank and Borough Market. This fourth project will bring the total Zoe portfolio to 571 hotel bedrooms in central London.

Plans for a new 18-storey hotel complex in Nottingham have just been approved.

The new hotel will be sited on derelict land around Nottingham's Island Quarter. The new hotel will have 223 bedrooms and will include a range of food and drink outlets plus a podium roof terrace, yoga studio and a library.

The new hotel will share space with a food market, co-working office space as well as a new area of public open space.

Plans for a new events and conference centre at Southport’s Marine Lake have just been unveiled.

Proposals include a flexible conference and business events venue plus a new theatre, entertainment space and a water and light show attraction.

The new events centre would replace the former Southport Theatre and Convention Centre which closed its doors in 2020. 

A public consultation on the proposals is set to launch later this month.

Mandarin Oriental Group is set to open a new hotel in central London this winter - The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will open in Hanover Square.  It will include 50 bedrooms and suites plus 79 private residences. It will feature a gastronomic restaurant, a salon lounge, a bar, a private rooftop terrace with bar overlooking Mayfair as well as an indoor swimming pool and a fitness centre and spa.

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will be a sister property to the five-red-AA-star Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, which opened in 2000.
