Battersea Arts Centre has joined the Unique Venues of London Collection (UVL) with effect from this month.

Battersea Arts Centre is a building rich in history and has long been a home for radical artistic ideas. It is a Grade II-listed building and was formerly the home of Battersea Town Hall.

 Meetings-wise Battersea Arts Centre offers a range of spaces including four ground floor and first floors rooms seating between two and 50 delegates.

For larger events the fully restored Grand Hall can double both as a large auditorium and banqueting hall seating up to 600 delegates theatre style, whilst the Council Chamber will seat up to 160 delegates theatre style.

Battersea Arts Centre is fully equipped with the latest AV equipment. Wi-fi is available throughout the building.

Battersea Arts Centre also offers a full in-house catering package.

Battersea Arts Centre is located in Lavender Hill near Clapham Junction station in south-west London.

The Caterer magazine is reporting a boom in the new hotel construction sector with £2.5b worth of projects in the pipeline.

London is set to see the highest number of new hotel sites with 60 projects in the pipeline approved since 2020, worth £740million. London also tops the charts of the Europe Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report, which ranks the pipeline of all European cities.

The average hotel project in the pipeline in London is worth £12.3million compared with projects in the rest of the country which average £7.2million.

The major projects highlighted include a £20million new Hampton by Hilton hotel near Heathrow, a £100million Met Tower Hotel in Glasgow and a £38.5million project at the W Hotel in Edinburgh.

The former Renaissance Hotel in the centre of Manchester is set for a major refurbishment and a relaunch under the SH Hotel & Resorts' Treehouse brand, part of Starwood Capital Investments

The new Treehouse Hotel will be part of as major redevelopment of the site which will also offer office space, car parking plus a residential tower featuring 300 new homes.

Treehouse Manchester will have 216 new bedrooms, a new top floor restaurant and bar, meeting and events space and a communal gym – and it will feature a ‘secret forest’ treehouse canopy.

Located on Deansgate in the centre of Manchester it will be the second Treehouse branded hotel in the UK. It will join Treehouse London Hotel in Langham Place central London, across the road from the BBC.

Treehouse Hotel Manchester is anticipated to open in 2023.

A meeting space ‘with a difference’ will be opening shortly in the centre of Birmingham. It will be called 'Eighteen' and will be housed on the 18th floor of 103 Colmore Row in the heart of Birmingham.

Eighteen will offer tenants of the building access to a lounge with dining and bar facilities, meeting rooms, events space and break out areas plus 3,000 sq ft outdoor terrace overlooking the city.

Eighteen will also be available to hire for private events by non-tenants.

The terrace promises to be one of the most spectacular spaces in the country, with its panoramic views of Birmingham.

Eighteen is a five-minute walk from Birmingham New Street Station and even closer to Birmingham Snow Hill Station.

Dorsett Hospitality International is planning a London launch of a new aparthotel brand - Dao by Dorsett West London - this summer. It is due to open 1st June 2022.

Dao by Dorsett West London will be located adjacent to the existing Dorsett Hotel on Shepherd’s Bush Green in central London.

Dao by Dorsett West London will feature 74 fully serviced apartment units. All apartment units will be either one or two bedroomed with multi-functional kitchenettes, an en-suite bathroom and living space. Some apartments will have private outdoor terraces. There will also be accessible studios available.

Dao by Dorsett West London will feature an “entertainment space” plus a restaurant and café.

Dao by Dorsett West London is a five-minute walk from Shepherd’s Bush tube station and Westfield London shopping centre in White City.

The renovation of a landmark building, North Western Hall, in the centre of Liverpool into a new Radisson RED hotel is on target for a summer 2022 opening.

North Western Hall opened as a hotel back in 1871 at the entrance to Liverpool Lime Street Station. Renovation work is now returning the building to a hotel -bringing it full circle.

The Radisson Red Hotel will have 201 bedrooms and suites, five meeting and events suites plus a ground floor restaurant and a gym.

North Western Hall is a Grade II-listed building and has been sensitively restored. The buildings 19th century-stained glass window, a rediscovered secret doorway and a grand staircase made of sandstone have all been retained and restored.
