Hotel plans at Warwick Castle
Plans have been published to build a new hotel at Warwick Castle on the site of a former car park.
The new hotel would be a two-storey building with 60 bedrooms plus a new restaurant also earmarked in the development.
Warwick Castle is a medieval castle developed from a wooden fort, originally built by William the Conqueror during 1068.
A planning application is expected in early 2022.

YOTEL comes to Manchester
YOTEL Manchester Deansgate has just opened in the centre of Manchester. It is a rebranding of the former Qbic Hotel on the corner of Deansgate and John Dalton Street.
YOTEL Manchester Deansgate has 261 ‘cabins’ all fully equipped with the latest facilities including superfast wi-fi.
Motley is the ground floor restaurant and bar which features an outdoor terrace. Leisure facilities include a boutique fitness centre.

Plans approved for new Hotel in Blackpool
Plans have been approved to convert an 111-year-old former Post Office in Blackpool into a new hotel.
The Grade II-listed building in Abingdon Street Is set to become a 148-bedroom Hotel Indigo.
Many of the buildings original features are set to be retained and enhanced including the building’s façade, its stain glass windows and its eight red telephone boxes along the front of the building. The old Post Office and Sorting Office are separated by an interior courtyard, which is also set to be transformed.
The new development will combine a Hotel Indigo and an Indigo Suites. The Indigo Suites will feature more spacious rooms and will include additional facilities including a kitchenette.
Hotel Indigo Blackpool is located in Abingdon Street in the centre of Blackpool, a short walk from Blackpool North station.

Hilton Birmingham Metropole launches new look
Hilton Birmingham Metropole has just opened its ‘new-look’ conference and events facilities, part of the hotel’s multi-million-pound refurbishment.
Hilton Birmingham Metropole encompasses 6,000sq-mt of meeting and events facilities divided into three separate and distinctive areas featuring 31 events spaces ranging from small boardrooms to expansive ballrooms, the largest of which can host up to 2,000 guests.
The bedrooms at Hilton Birmingham Metropole also have a new look. Three new bar and restaurant concepts featuring Birmingham’s rich heritage and industrial background complete the refurbishment programme.
The remainder of the refurbishment programme at Hilton Birmingham Metropole is due for completion in early 2022.

LEVEN Manchester opens
LEVEN Manchester is a new lifestyle hotel which has just opened in a converted warehouse building on the corner of Chorlton and Canal Streets in the centre of Manchester.
LEVEN Manchester has upgraded the features of the warehouse including its red brick walls, Crittall windows, high ceilings, exposed brickwork and timber floors.
LEVEN Manchester has 42 bedrooms all with the latest facilities, some with stand-alone bathtubs and full kitchens.
LEVEN Manchester has a ground-floor café which becomes the bar later in the day. A subterranean ground-floor restaurant is planned to open in early to mid 2022.

Moxy Glasgow SEC officially open
Marriott Hotels Group has officially opened Moxy Glasgow SEC close to the Hydro SSE venue. It opened to coincide with the recent COP26 meeting hosted in Glasgow. It joins Moxy Glasgow Merchant City as the second Moxy hotel in the city.
Moxy Glasgow SEC has 243 bedrooms including 13 suites – all fully equipped with the latest in-room technology including superfast wi-fi and smart 42" smart TVs.
The décor throughout Moxy Glasgow SEC that pays homage to the many events taking place locally. Features include musical paraphernalia such as drumsticks hanging from the ceiling and old-style amplifiers and graffiti-clad walls.
Leisure facilities at Moxy Glasgow SEC include a communal space in the lobby for games and activities, including a snooker table, plus a 24-hour gym.
Food is served throughout the day starting with continental breakfast.
