Cristiano Ronaldo, former Manchester United footballer, has teamed up with Pestana Hotels to open a 'high end lifestyle hotel' in the centre of Manchester. Subject to planning approval the new hotel is expected to open in 2023.

The project would see the Grade II-listed Halls Building - home to The Piccadilly Tavern pub - redeveloped, with the empty building next door demolished and replaced with a new 11-storey tower.

The Pestana CR7 Manchester Hotel would overlook Piccadilly Gardens in central Manchester.

Pestana CR7 Hotel Manchester would have 151 bedrooms, a ground floor bar and cafe, basement gym plus a roof terrace. The Piccadilly Tavern unit would also be refurbished as part of the plan and would remain a pub. New retail and leisure units would also be created at street level.

Pestana Group currently operate the four-star Chelsea Bridge Hotel and Spa in London as well as a portfolio of hotels including sites in Berlin, Barcelona and Caracas.

Plans for Pestana CR7 Hotel Manchester are expected to go before a planning committee in the near future.

Plans have been unveiled to expand Hampton by Hilton Blackpool. The hotel, which opened two years ago, would see an additional 74 bedrooms added to its existing 130 rooms.

The new bedrooms at Hampton by Hilton Blackpool would be housed in a new four storey extension on the adjoining car park.

The extension would also include additional meeting space and additional parking spaces.

Hampton by Hilton Blackpool is located on Blackpool's South Shore, a short walk from the Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark. Blackpool Tower, Madame Tussauds, Central Pier and the Winter Gardens.

Plans for the extension have been lodged with Blackpool Council's planning committee.

The Abbey Hotel Bath has just joined Marriott Hotel’s Tribute Portfolio following its recent major refurbishment.

Tribute Portfolio is Marriott International’s newest collection of independent hotels.

The Radisson Hotel Group has just rebranded its Park Inn hotel at London Heathrow airport. The hotel has been split into two separate hotels under its Radisson and Radisson RED brands.

The new format features the Radisson RED London Heathrow with 258 bedrooms and the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre London Heathrow with over 600 bedrooms.

Both hotels share the same lobby, restaurant, lounge and bar, as well as the extensive leisure facilities which include a gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room.

Radisson RED London Heathrow is the second Radisson RED hotel to open in the UK following the brands debut in Glasgow.

Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre London Heathrow is the first Radisson Hotel in the UK. It also features major conference and events space with 41 meeting rooms.

The two hotels are located close to London Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3.

The Royal Angus Hotel in the centre of Birmingham and formerly a Thistle Hotel, now has a new owner: SevenCapital.

SevenCapital already own the four-star Park Regis Hotel which is located just on the outskirts of central Birmingham at the top of Broad Street at Five Ways.

The Royal Angus Hotel is located off St Chad’s Queensway, close to Birmingham Snow Hill station and Colmore Business District.

The 186-bedroom hotel is currently closed and will now undergo an 18-month renovation project to become a four-star aparthotel addition to the SevenCapital portfolio.

Plans have been approved to convert Nottingham's historic Guildhall into a four-star hotel.

Plans for the building include a 160-bedroom hotel featuring a rooftop fine dining restaurant, a spa plus conference and events facilities.

The Grade II-listed Guildhall building dates back to 1887 and in the past has housed a magistrates’ court, police station and fire station but the building has been vacant since 2010.

A new five-storey rear extension to the Guildhall is planned plus a glazed link connection between the Guildhall and Fire Station House alongside.

The Guildhall section will feature 39 bedrooms whilst the five-storey extension will create a further 20 bedrooms. The 13-storey tower will feature 101 bedrooms as well as the rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace.

The Guildhall is located in Sherwood Street in the centre of Nottingham.
